- I loved that the Alpha Vamp talked about Sam as "smelling cold". I thought it was vaguely reminiscent of how Famine talked about Dean last year. Go writing supporting color meta!
It relates to the titles of shattering ice, which also relates to the alphas vamp's reference to Dante - in the Inferno, in the bottom level of hell, where Satan is, Satan is frozen in ice. So since they are using Dante's cosmology of Paradise being next to hell, they are being consistent as well, in the symbolism of the cage, the place where Sam's soul is caught as icebound.
Also, last year, there was that scene where Lucifer said he burned cold: Lucifer: Sorry if it's a bit chilly. Most people think I burn hot. It's actually quite the opposite in Swan Song.
